Kasey Chapin, President
Kasey Chapin has been an FSUS PTSA member since 2005. She was the Technology Chair for 2006-2008 creating our electronic newsletter, Council Oak, and helping to develop the PTSA webpage. Kasey served as Volunteer Coordinator of the FSUS Playground Project from 2006-2008.
Christy Griffin, Treasurer
This is Christy Griffin’s first year to serve on the PTSA. Christy has worked in the banking industry for 20 years and looks forward to serving Florida State University School this year.
Trevor Brumbley, 1st Vice President, Fundraising Chair
Trevor Brumbley has volunteered extensively with the football program and has been the Box Tops and Campbells Labels Co-Chair for the last 3 years.
Shirley Harrell, 2nd Vice President, Membership Chair
Shirley is proud to serve on the PTSA Board this year and is eager to again support FSUS faculty & staff. The Harrell family has long history of graduates from 1956 (Uncle Jimmy), 1978 (Cousin Karen), 1982 (Cousin Danny & Sister-in-law Sheri), 1985 (Husband Ben & Cousin Steven Lambert), 1989 (Brother-in-law Joel), and in 2006 (son Justin) and future graduate, class of 2014 (Andrew). The Harrell family bleed garnet & gold and they love this school. Shirley hopes you will join her this year by supporting our organization with your membership!
Patricia Powell, 3rd Vice President, Programs Chair (PTSA Office245-3734)
Patricia Powell is new to the FSUS PTSA Board, but has been a member of PTSA since 2004. She has served as a volunteer for the FSUS Latin Club and Band. Her community service includes Leon County 4H, the YMCA Minority Achievers Program, the Tallahassee Coalition Center of Excellence and the National Achiever’s Society Parent Alliance.
Sara Hamon, Recording Secretary
This is Sara Hamon’s first year serving on the PTSA board. She works as Assistant Dean in the Division of Undergraduate Studies at FSU, where she teaches an academic success course and oversees the Academic Center for Excellence.
Heidi Abernethy, Corresponding Secretary
Heidi Abernethy is serving as Corresponding Secretary this year. She served one year as PTSA President in 2006-2007. She also served as Program Chair in 2008-2009.
