Dear FSUS Families,
Happy New Year! It's hard to believe the kids are back in school again, and that the year is almost half over! We want to thank all the volunteers who have served side by side with us over the last 5 months. We encourage those of you who haven't yet found some way to be involved to join with us to make Florida High a great place for our kids. We will continue to use the online sign up method for many of our events. This is an easy way to be included in what is going on and to meet fellow parents at the school. If you don't have a New Year's Resolution yet, make being involved in 2009 one of yours. We'd love to have you on board!
This issue of the Council Oak includes some information that was sent out in the December/January newsletter. However there are quite a few new items of interest as well for the month of January.
We look forward to meeting some new folks in the new year. Welcome back!

Reading Challenge Update
|
At the beginning of this school year, a challenge was given to the elementary students to read 10,000 books by May. To date, 1156 books have been logged in towards the total. We've got a long way to go if we want to see Mr. Trafford as Captain Underpants!
Get busy reading, and don't forget to turn in a separate Reading Challenge log to your teachers!
Hopefully, by the next newsletter, we'll have more than doubled if not tripled that number! Get reading kids!
